Go 2 Heaven!!

Sitting in a youth leaders meeting when time passed and our young at heart leaders couldn't help but cut up as if it was a room full of youth. Someone decided that they would tell everyone to "Go to heaven" rather than the opposite much more negative term. This stuck with the team and leaked in the youth group. Now as we arrive or depart from meetings or events the phrase "Go to Heaven" is used. I decided that this would make the perfect first shirt design for Kingdom Come Brand. I thought what a great message of how powerful words are. The word says words are like a bit in a horses mouth. They plot the course for our lives."Go to Heaven" is simply a way to turn the direction of our lives to Christ and keep it on that path. What you speak is ultimately what you reap. Sow words of love and hope..

Get your hand out of the bag of chips!!

Everyone has had that moment were they have been sharing a bag of chips and you reach your hand in the bag at the same time as the other person. It is hard to grab what you want out of the bag when someone else is trying to do the same at the same time as you..

We are in this same position with God quite often. We are the ones who put or selves in this position. At this point your are probably thinking what does a bag of chips have to do God.. well let me explain myself.

We ask God all the time for his will to be done in situations or for His hand to be in that situation.. well I just picture Him saying when we ask something like that "then let me!". His will can't be done if our will is in the way. His hand can't be on it if our hand is in the way.. we can't have ours and Gods hand in the bag of chips (or lives) at the same time. So get your hand out of your bag of Chips and let God in.. don't get in the way of His plans and will for your life..

Pray with me this prayer..

Perfect and Loving God that loves us abundantly, more than we can ever imagine.. we freely take our will and put it to the side so yours may be done.. thank for your love and mercy in our lives.. in Jesus name we pray these things for your Glory.. Amen

Walking on water

I am writing this blog from the beach. I just felt led to come down here by the spirit. I am sitting in the sand in amazement of Gods creation. I remembered a revelation I had of Jesus when he walked on the water and the symbolism it had. It is a perfect picture of how to live our lives in the world.

To me the water represents influence and the deeper you get in influence the more pressure there is. Finally u will explode or hit rock bottom. Jesus walking on water represents how we should live and walk above that influence where there is no resistance from the world.. its raiser to walk on water rather than in it..

I didn't post this blog in faith that God will continue to show me things while I'm out here.. well here you go.

Water is only powerfull when there is much.. a body of water. We are called the body of Christ then we should be powerfull.. fact is we don't work together like the ocean. We are scattered like ponds all over the place... in hope that someone may run into us.. but we should be something bigger that people come to see and seek God!..you should be able to drive knowing you will hit the water not thinkin I may run into a pond on my way there.. at some point you will run into a powerfull body of water.. at some point you should run into the Body of Christ and be changed forever.

And again.. God should be in your life like waves in the ocean. Never ceasing and never quite.. sometimes more powerfull sometimes a more comforting voice..

Green Eggs and Ham

Let’s look at the well know children’s book “Green Eggs and Ham” Sam I am was trying his best to get the other character to eat the green eggs and ham. He thought that if he changed the place that he would be eating it that it would make a difference.  The character would still not have any of the green eggs and ham, in a box with a fox, on a train or boat, here or there. He finally gave up and gave in and tried the green eggs and ham and decided he did like them a lot.
The same this character would not try green eggs and ham in the different places we do not try God in our daily lives. God offers himself to use all the time!! In a boat with a goat… Wherever you are he will be also! Sometimes we forget that we must worship the Lord with our lives. Not just in church on a Sunday while the band is playing. We wait for the right times to worship but really the right time was yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  The Bible say pray without ceasing…. Wait a minute we can’t be in church all the time. This means always having communion and fellowship with God. Duh!!
I say this because to many people truly only talk to God and worship him on Sundays. How sad is that that a God who wants to love you and give to you and you will only give him an hour on Sunday. I can’t imagine how that must feel.
Romans 12:1-Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship

20 Minutes from death

Our youth group went to visit a youth in the hospital yesterday afternoon. I am still blown away at the outcome of the visit. It was proof that good things can easily come out of something bad if you let it and keep a positive attitude.

The young man who was in the hospital had been camping with his Mom, little sister and brother. He started to feel sick when he got out to the campsite. They thought it was just  regular stomach bug so they disregarded it. He wanted to stay out there because it was his moms birthday and he didn't want to ruin it for everyone else. I must say that his heart is in the right place but his stomach was definitely not at the time. He continued to throw up and couldn't hold anything in. The situation escalated so his mom rushed him to the hospital. They got the young man to the hospital only to find out that his appendix was ruptured. The doctors said that if they would have been 20 minutes later he would have died from the internal bleeding.

The youth pastor and I arrived after a phone call about the situation to be in prayer. We got there just as the young man was being wheeled into his room from surgery. He was out of it and could barley communicate because of the drugs. The whole family dirty still from the camping trip was in shock at the fact that they almost lost someone very close to them. We decide to make a trip to see him after church on Sunday.

We arrived on Sunday and got to talk with the young man for a little while. We told him that we would be bringing the youth to come see him on Wednesday instead of having a regular youth service. He was stoked to be able to have church come to him. Jokingly on the way out I told him to prepare to give the message when we brought the youth.

Now first you must understand the this particular young man is very talented at getting the other youth hyped up and being distracting. He stands out from the rest because he loves the spotlight. Every one knows this youth. You have met them before. I tell you this to tell that I went ahead and wrote out a message and prepared to give it to the youth while we were at the hospital in disbelief that he would have a message prepared or that he would even have told his mom to bring his bible.

I arrived at the hospital with the youth that evening. My focus at the time was to make sure the students where behaving in the halls of the hospital. We got into the room where the young man was after his surgery. I was one of the last groups to arrive into the room. With everyone standing around the young man who was laid up on the hospital bed with his bible I asked if he brought the word and he said yes with a laugh. I had to ask again and another time to realize he was serious. Contrary to my belief he wrote a lesson up and was prepared to step out of his comfort zone and give a message.

He began to explain the incident that happened to him and why he had to have surgery. He told the youth that he was 20 minutes away from death and that he could have easily died. He opened his bible and explained the story of the prodigal son and how he came back to his fathers house after leaving out of disobedience. He began to relate that story to his life. Then he told us the importance of not taking life for granted and how short life really his. He explained how he has always said that nothing like that would never happen to him and now he is sitting in a hospital bed overwhelmed. He told the youth that as for him he would not be taking life for granted any longer and that he was going to go after God and not stop!!

Something tragic happened in this young mans life and he has allowed God to use it and turn it into good. This experience I believe will change his life forever and now this particular student is on his way to win souls over and be a leader in the kingdom of God. 1 Timothy 4:12
